The Hartley Knows-I can write program begins with the Hartley Knows Shapes learning module introducing children to our lovable cat Hartley and his friends. Through their adventures Hartley collects and measures the 15 writing shapes that are used in varying combinations to form letters, numbers, punctuation and math symbols. Hartley’s techniques develop spatial skills to assist with correct size, spacing and placement of letters in relation to the writing line. After viewing the animated shapes story adventures, foundation students are encouraged to re-enact and recount the story, find the writing shapes and learn to draw them using Hartley Knows-I can write shapes worksheets.
Students are then ready to begin using Hartley Knows Foundation Letters learning module which includes animated stories to teach correct formation of lowercase letters in Victorian Infant Cursive font, hundreds of worksheets including worksheets specifically designed for left handed students, activities and resources that support visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners.
Hartley Knows Foundation Numbers learning module now includes animated stories to teach correct formation of numerals 0-10, worksheets including worksheets specifically designed for left handed students, activities and resources to enhance learning.
