Hartley Knows unique animated story adventures, junior writing worksheets, activities and resource materials are easily incorporated into year one and year two classrooms and are aligned with the Victorian and Australian Curriculum. Whether you are working with a whole class, in small groups or with individuals, Hartley Knows provides engaging, enjoyable learning activities for students of wide-ranging abilities. We provide a structured range of activities and materials including over 300 worksheets enabling easily differentiated learning tasks for students who require additional learning support or extension. Our educational programs are provided through an annual subscription.
The Hartley Knows-I can write program begins with the Hartley Knows Shapes learning module introducing children to our lovable cat Hartley and his friends. Through their adventures, Hartley collects and measures the 15 writing shapes that are used in varying combinations to form letters, numbers, punctuation and math symbols. Hartley’s techniques develop spatial skills to assist with the correct sizing, spacing and placement of letters in relation to the writing line. These delightful stories captivate the imagination of children providing engaging literacy discussion pieces for comprehension, recount or to provide inspiration for creative narrative writing. The Hartley Writing Concepts learning module includes additional animated stories that teach concepts such as correct letter placement, editing and making spaces between words.
The Hartley Knows Junior Letters learning module provides animated stories to teach the correct formation of each pair of uppercase and lowercase letters in Victorian Infant Cursive font. Our unique method provides repetition in engaging ways that support visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners to gain the handwriting practice necessary to assist their writing to become neat, legible and automatic.
Hartley Knows provides a large range of worksheets of varying sizes for right-handed students with left-handed worksheets also available. We have developed a unique range of blank coloured dotted thirds pages, with sizes including 32mm, 28mm, 24mm, 21mm, 18mm. Our extensive range makes it is easy for teachers to select the paper size and practice tasks that best suit the fine motor skills of each student.
The Hartley Knows Junior Number learning module provides a range of worksheets to practice correct numeral formation, including specific worksheets for left-handed students.
Fine Motor Skills– Junior students are still developing their ability to effectively hold a pencil and control the small movements of their hands to enable writing with greater fluency, control, speed and endurance. We have developed a range of engaging educational activities that support educational goals whilst improving fine motor skills.

The Hartley Knows How program is also included in our school subscription. This delightful series of animated story adventures easily engages the imagination of junior students and introduces them to personal development and positive life skills strategies. Hartley Knows How learning module aims to enhance student’s ability to identify and manage emotions, accept disappointments, learn to problem solve, develop persistence, perseverance and self-confidence. The Hartley Knows How program includes a range of coached questions that can be used in literacy classes or personal development classes to enhance student learning. This standalone program is suitable to use with a whole class, small groups, families and individual children, or in conjunction with other educational, positive psychology or therapy programs.
